For our office in Barcelona, we are looking for a: Customs Agent (f/m/d) in Spain and reporting to the Customs Supervisor.
We are looking for a person with proactive attitude, flexible, resolute, open to learn. Highly organised and methodical. Ability to work autonomously. Team player with a proven ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines. Good communication skills; high level of accuracy and committed person.
FUNCTIONS:
* Submit import/export customs declarations, ensuring all deadlines are met.
* Submit formal requests to customs authorities, clearly and structured using professional language.
* Analize sanctions received, prepare and submit formal appeals to customs in a structured, clear, and professional manner.
* Verify that all submitted and received documentation is accurate, complete, and compliant with relevant regulations.
* Maintain proactive and clear communication with internal and external customers to gather any missing documentation, resolve discrepancies, and ensure the accuracy of data.
* Regularly update the customs incident report, offering an overview of risk exposure, and contribute to the ongoing maintenance of the company's AEO (Authorized Economic Operator) certification.
REQUIRED SOFT SKILLS:
* Proactive attitude, solution-focused, and eager to learn.
* Strong organizational and methodical skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
* Team Player to contribute to team goals and company pillars (Performance Management, Customer Experience, Leadership Excellent and Employee Engagement, Teamwork & Communication).
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, particularly in drafting formal correspondence and documents for customs authorities with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Analytical and Critical Thinking to assess situations, solve problems, and make sound decisions.
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:
* Fluent English (C1 level), both spoken and written.
* - Educational background: master’s degree or equivalent, professional education in shipping, customs or similar.
