Job Description
The Cost Controller oversees and optimises the hotel's operating costs, ensuring accuracy in purchasing and inventory records, especially for Food & Beverage (F&B). Responsibilities include updating the purchasing system, implementing cost controls, preparing financial reports, analyzing cost ratios, and contributing to monthly financial closing processes to meet profitability targets.
Key Responsibilities
* Recording of product deliveries.
* Recording of F&B invoices in the general accounting system.
* Complying with established cost control procedures and creating new ones to improve efficiency.
* Ensuring compliance with documentation and authorization processes for purchasing and inventory control.
* Processing F&B accruals correctly in the system.
* Monitoring F&B inventories for accuracy and operational needs.
* Maintaining the purchasing system, including prices and suppliers.
* Reconciling inventory reports with accounting balances and resolving discrepancies.
* Participating in month-end reporting, ensuring accurate F&B inventory and cost reporting.
* Preparing and submitting daily, monthly, and annual cost reports timely.
* Analyzing cost over sales ratios to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve profitability.
Qualifications
* University degree in hospitality, business administration, or related field.
* Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar hospitality industry role.
* Fluency in Spanish; English is highly valuable.
* Ability to manage financial issues, solve complex problems, and make effective decisions.
* Maintain confidentiality and protect company assets.
Candidate must be a citizen of the European Union or possess a valid work permit for Spain.
