Business Development Director – Drug Discovery CDMO (Europe)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced
Business Development Director
to drive growth across Europe for a leading global drug discovery and development services organization. This role will lead strategic and operational business development activities, expanding relationships with
top-tier pharma and biotech companies
and positioning the organization as a trusted discovery partner.
Key Responsibilities
Lead new business generation with
integral pharma and biotech clients, focusing on integrated drug discovery and early development programs.
Identify, qualify, and close opportunities across services including
Medicinal Chemistry, Biology, DMPK, Structural Biology, and CDMO Manufacturing.
Manage the full BD lifecycle — from lead generation and proposal coordination to pricing, negotiation, and contract closure.
Build long‑term, consultative relationships with key decision‑makers in pharma, biotech, and academia.
Represent the company at industry events and scientific conferences to strengthen its European brand presence.
Ideal Profile
7‑15 years of experience in
Business Development within Drug Discovery / CRO / CDMO
environments.
Proven record of success developing partnerships with
large pharma and biotech organizations.
Strong technical understanding of discovery disciplines (Medicinal Chemistry, In Vitro/In Vivo Biology, DMPK).
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
Experience working cross‑functionally with scientific and operational teams across global sites.
