Project description
Application Modernization Practice is a horizontal practice supporting all business verticals in Luxoft. We are looking for a Senior System Analyst capable of working across different domain zones. The project involves migrating a legacy system written in HLASM (High-Level Assembler) from the mainframe to a cloud-based Java environment for one of the largest banks in the USA.
Responsibilities
* Develop, analyze, prioritize, and organize requirement specifications, data mapping, diagrams, and flowcharts for developers and testers.
* Recover the design, requirement specifications, and functions of a system by analyzing its code (currently High-Level Assembler, with Cobol in the near future).
* Translate non-technical requirements into clear technical specifications.
* Convert low-level code descriptions into meaningful functional requirements.
* Organize requirements into features and stories.
* Maintain knowledge base for the system and the project.
* Participate in optimizing internal team processes.
* Work from the office 5 days per week is mandatory.
Skills
Must have
* Technical background;
readiness to deep dive into High-Level Assembler code for reverse engineering requirements.
* Ability to provide concise and coherent documentation in English (target audience is native speakers).
* Enhance requirements with models and diagrams as needed.
* At least 3 years of experience in a BA/SA role.
* Analytical mindset.
* Understanding of various requirement types and their representations.
* Good understanding of non-functional requirements.
* Ability to communicate effectively in both business and technical languages.
* High level of seniority when handling complex tasks.
* Experience analyzing and documenting integrations.
* Experience working on projects with international stakeholders (USA, UK).
* Knowledge of analytical tools (functional/non-functional requirements, use cases, user stories, UML).
Nice to have
* Experience with IBM zOS mainframe.
* Understanding of IBM High-Level Assembler and COBOL.
* Experience with microservices architecture and message brokers.
