What You'll Be Doing
As Head of Business Intelligence, you will be responsible for shaping and executing our client's BI vision, leading the development of a modern, scalable, and business-driven data infrastructure. Your mission is to empower the company with real-time, actionable insights that enhance strategic and operational decisions across all departments within the fast-moving traveltech industry.
You will lead the architecture, team, and toolset—most critically leveraging Google BigQuery, Looker Studio, and Looker (Google Cloud)—to build a truly data-driven culture. This role blends hands-on technical leadership with cross-functional collaboration to unlock value through data.
Key Responsibilities
1. Define and oversee the architecture of the company's full-stack data ecosystem, including ingestion (ETL), warehousing, and data visualization—centered on Google Cloud technologies.
2. Own the design, governance, and continuous improvement of Looker Studio and Looker, ensuring consistency, adoption, and usability across teams.
3. Lead advanced data modeling in BigQuery, ensuring performance, scalability, and accuracy across core datasets.
4. Build and maintain critical dashboards and self-service analytics supporting performance tracking across Marketing, Revenue, Sales, Operations, and Customer Support.
5. Drive data governance, quality control, and security standards company-wide.
6. Act as a strategic partner to Product, Tech, and Commercial leadership, translating business needs into analytical solutions.
7. Build, grow, and mentor a high-performing BI team—analysts and data engineers—fostering an insight-driven culture.
8. Automate strategic reporting processes and develop alert systems to monitor key KPIs proactively.
9. Stay updated on BI trends and innovations, especially within traveltech, to enhance capabilities and impact.
What We Look for in You
Technical Expertise
* Degree in Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
* 5+ years in Business Intelligence, data analysis, or data engineering roles.
* 2+ years managing BI or analytics teams (minimum 3 members).
* Advanced proficiency in SQL and hands-on experience with Google BigQuery.
* Experience with Looker Studio and Looker, including dashboard development and data modeling.
* Proven leadership in cross-functional BI projects in agile environments.
* Ability to automate reporting and alerts based on KPIs.
Nice to Have / Plus
* Master's degree in Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or related fields.
* Python experience for ETL and automation.
* Familiarity with Tableau, Power BI, Data Studio, etc.
* Experience in traveltech, hospitality, or e-commerce sectors.
* Knowledge of Google APIs such as Google Ads, GHA, and GA4.
* Experience in building scalable self-service analytics frameworks.
