The role of the Area Sales Manager – Machine Tools will involve :
* Field sales position selling a large manufactured portfolio of CNC machines, machine tools, lathes, milling machines, drilling machines, boring machines and fabrication machines
* 70% of your time selling directly into mechanical engineers
* Remainder of time selling direct into other engineering customers, aerospace, automotive,energy sector, marine, MOD & Government facilities
* 60% new business development role, you will be provided with target lists of customers to approach and will also follow up on plenty of leads vis the office / website
* 40% account management of some existing customers and pipeline on the area
* Typically 3.5 days per week on the road, rest of time working from home with monthly visits to the midlands based office
* Taking customers to the office to show them our clients showroom
The ideal applicant will be an Area Sales Manager – Machine Tools with :
* Ideally some understanding of machine tools and field sales experience
* Open to other field sales backgrounds who focus on mechanical engineers
* Would consider no sales experience with related industry experience, e.g. a service engineer looking for 1st field sales role
* May consider other field sales tooling experience with a strong desire to move into machine tools
* Technically capable
* Reliable and trustworthy
* Strong features and benefits sales experience, must be able to negotiate and close!
* Excellent presentation and demonstrating skills
* A practical and professional hands on competent approach
* Excellent organisational / territory planning skills
