🏥\nAbout us
\n
We are a healthtech company specialized in the development of\nadvanced robotic surgery systems for high-precision minimally invasive procedures\n. Founded in 2012 as a spin-off from UPC and IBEC, our mission is to make robot-assisted surgery more accessible, precise, and efficient worldwide. We are building next-generation surgical robotic platforms, and instrumentation is a critical part of our core technology.
\n
🎯\nYour mission
\n
As a Senior Systems / Test Engineer you will be responsible for defining, building and validating custom test benches used to characterize robotic surgical instruments. This is a key role inside our R&D; team, directly connected to product performance, safety and regulatory evidence.
\n
You will translate instrument requirements into test systems that allow us to understand, measure and validate real-world behaviour of robotic surgical tools, ensuring reliability in clinical use scenarios.
\n
đź› \nYour main responsibilities
\n
\n
- Translate robotic surgical instrument requirements into test bench specifications
\n
- Define and lead validation protocols for instrumentation (force, hysteresis, fatigue, offset, grasping performance, stiffness, distal vs proximal behaviour)
\n
- Design, build and validate custom test rigs for robotic surgery systems (mechanical + instrumentation + calibration)
\n
- Execute and analyse performance and reliability testing.
\n
- Generate technical documentation for regulatory submissions in medical devices
\n
- Ensure traceability, calibration control and continuous improvement of testing systems used in surgical robotics
\n
- Act as a key link between design engineers and validation teams in iterative development cycles
\n
- Support risk analysis with experimental data from testing
\n
\n🎓\nWhat are we looking for?\n
\n
- Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Biomedical Engineering or similar
\n
- 5+ years of experience in V&V; / testing, ideally in robotic systems
\n
- Strong hands-on experience with test benches or rigs (preferably in robotics or surgical systems)
\n
- Solid understanding of mechanical testing, materials behaviour, fatigue and reliability
\n
- Knowledge of ISO 13485 / ISO 14971 and validation processes (IQ/OQ/PQ)
\n
- Experience with data analysis (Excel; Python or MATLAB is a plus)
\n
- English professional level (technical documentation)
\n
- Spanish native or fluent
\n
\n🧠\nWe are looking for someone who is…\n
\n
- Previous experience in robotic surgery, medical robotics or high-precision robotic systems
\n
- Hands-on, pragmatic and problem-solver by nature
\n
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced
\n
- Able to connect mechanical design with experimental validation in complex robotic systems
\n
- Analytical, structured and detail-oriented
\n
\n🔬\nNice to have\n
\n
- Sensorised / hybrid robotic test benches
\n
- MATLAB or Python for data analysis
\n
- Exposure to MDR / CE marking in medical devices
\n
- Iterative design–test–learn development environments
\n
\n🚀\nWhat do we offer?\n
\n
- Full-time permanent contract
\n
- Competitive salary aligned with experience
\n
- Versátil working hours
\n
- Highly innovative and regulated environment with real impact on patients’ lives
\n
- Strong engineering culture inside a surgical robotics company developing real medical robotic systems
