ASENSE is a dynamic company based in Barcelona, focused on the development of custom optics and integrated optical systems. We are seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our growing team and contribute to cutting-edge projects in fields such as medical, scientific, and defense applications, all centered around the theme of light. Our projects range from designing custom optical lens systems to developing fully integrated solutions like OCT or laser optical radar. ASENSE also participates in funded R&D; initiatives, including CDTI and Horizon Europe programs.
We are looking for a highly skilled Software Engineer with a passion for coding and technology, and a strong background in Linux and Python. The idóneo candidate will have hands-on experience in software development, with additional expertise in embedded systems and image processing being highly valued. This role involves developing software for advanced imaging systems, laser-based applications, and other innovative optical technologies, while collaborating closely with hardware engineers to deliver high-performance solutions.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient software solutions.
- Work extensively with Linux-based systems for software development, deployment, and testing.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate and optimize software-hardware interactions.
- Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software issues.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of software for optical and imaging systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 4 years of professional experience in software development.
- Strong proficiency in Python programming; knowledge of C/C++ is a plus.
- Extensive experience in Linux environments, including shell scripting.
- Valuable hands-on experience with embedded systems (e.g., Jetson Nano, Orin, Raspberry).
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication skills, both written and oral.
Optional
- Experience with image processing algorithms and libraries (e.g., OpenCV) is highly valued.
- Experience with FPGA development (e.g., Xilinx/Altera) and tools like VHDL/Verilog is highly valued.
- Basic knowledge of hardware systems and their integration with software.
