In this role, the Field Engineer Apprentice will observe and perform various equipment service processes and procedures
to drive customer satisfaction and ensure proper functionality of less complex customer diagnostic imaging equipment.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

- With minimal supervision, as assigned, perform planned maintenance (PM), safety and environmental inspections and maintain effective customer relations.

- Follow appropriate GE policies, procedures, hospital protocol and complete necessary documentation.

- Maintain daily communications with customers, to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, leading to customer satisfaction.

- You may need to assist more experienced technicians and FSE’s on basic and complex repairs /resolution respectively.

- Work as a member of local team to provide efficient service delivery to all accounts within assigned area and document all actions and submit reports/summaries according to schedule.

- Enhance and maintain technical knowledge of current standards, codes and procedures regarding safe and effective use of medical equipment through formal instruction.

- Please note this is a 12-month contract with GEHC.

Qualifications/Requirements:

- Engineering Vocational Training or University Degree (biomedicine, telecommunications, electronics, industrial). *Completed in the past 3 years, and they must not have had this type of contract previously - The length of this contract is up to 12 months.

- Proven experience performing in a compliance environment and working within code and procedures to ensure safe and effective operation of devices.

- Proficiency in completing electronic documentation using PDA and computer skills.

- Previous experience developing and maintaining good customer relations.

- Willing to occasionally travel outside of assigned region plus a valid driving license

- Spanish and English oral and written skills

Desired Characteristics:

- Previous experience in a hospital setting.

- Analytical and communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to the customer in an easy to understand manager.

- Experience interfacing with both internal team members and external customers as part of a solution based service process.
