Performance Controller – Responsibilities
* Responsible for the operative budgeting and planning process as well as cost and project controlling, with a strong focus on variance analysis, identification of deviations and proactive performance steering.
* Responsible for the investment controlling of the Spanish assets of VERBUND, ensuring continuous monitoring of performance against budget, forecast and defined KPIs.
* Prepare budget and review meetings with the shareholders, providing analytical insights, deviation analysis and clear explanations of business performance.
* Create deviation analyses (present vs. budget/forecast), identify root causes and propose corrective actions, and process ad hoc inquiries with a strong analytical approach.
* Prepare business decision‑making bases for management, with a focus on KPI‑driven analysis and performance evaluation. Responsible for (parts of) group reports and shareholder meetings.
* Responsible for the operative task of monthly, quarterly and annual closings of VGP-IB including detailed analysis and commentary on financial deviations and performance trends. Support on specific projects and further development topics in the Controlling department. Support in the elaboration of project finance reports for the banks.
Qualifications
* Degree in business management (university or equal) with a focus on controlling and/or corporate accounting. Master’s in finance is desirable.
* 5 years of relevant professional experience in a comparable position.
* Experience with integrated budgeting.
* Knowledge of SAP (CO, PS, BW, first contact with SAP S4/HANA would be an advantage).
* Very good MS Office skills (especially Excel and PowerPoint).
* Broad commercials know‑how.
* Fluently in Spanish and English (German would be an advantage).
* Previous experience as an auditor would be an advantage.
