Job overview
To serve as the strategic "Human Firewall" and primary translator between Teleconsult's diverse business departments and the Meditecs development team. Your mission is to transform a high volume of fragmented, ad-hoc requirements into a structured, technically sound, and prioritized product roadmap. By mastering the art of requirements interception and solution design, you will eliminate development bottlenecks, provide business stakeholders with predictable timelines, and ensure every line of code adds maximum value to the company.
Primary Accountability
The Technical Product Owner is the ultimate gatekeeper of the development lifecycle. You will sit at the intersection of business strategy and technical execution, ensuring that the Meditecs team is never distracted by conflicting priorities. You are responsible for the entire journey of a feature from the initial spark of a business need, through rigorous technical design with architects, to the final validation of a high-quality software release.
Key Responsibilities
1. Requirements Engineering (Gathering, Interception & Validation)
The Interceptor: Serve as the sole point of entry for all software requests. You will "intercept" ad-hoc communications from different departments to protect the development team's focus and efficiency.
Deep-Dive Elicitation: Conduct workshops with stakeholders to move beyond "what they want" to "what they actually need," uncovering the underlying business logic.
Rigorous Validation: Critically evaluate every request against business goals. You must ensure that requirements are feasible, necessary, and fully understood before they ever reach the backlog.
Specification Mastery: Translate business needs into high-fidelity functional specifications, user stories, and clear acceptance criteria that leave no room for developer ambiguity.
2. Collaborative Solution Design
Architectural Partnership: Work hand-in-hand with Meditecs' Software Architects and Senior Developers to bridge the gap between business "vision" and technical "reality."
Technical Design Review: Participate in designing system workflows, API integrations, and data models to ensure they are scalable and align with Teleconsult's existing ecosystem (existing custom ERP with several dashboards, integrated with Agfa Enterprise Imaging).
Detailed documentation: Functional specifications using UML standardized visual diagrams (Use Case, Statechart, Activity/Process flow... )
Feasibility Analysis: Act as a sounding board for the technical team to identify potential constraints, technical debt, or risks early in the design phase.
3. Project Governance & Delivery Management
Roadmap & Timeline Ownership: Develop and maintain a transparent project roadmap. You are responsible for providing stakeholders with realistic delivery timelines and progress updates.
Cost & Resource Estimation: Collaborate with technical leads to provide accurate effort estimations (time and cost) for new initiatives, enabling data-driven decision-making for leadership.
Backlog & Sprint Orchestration: Own the prioritization of the backlog, making the tough calls on "what comes first" when departmental interests conflict.
4. Quality, Compliance & UAT
Gatekeeper of Quality: Define and oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT). You are the final authority who confirms that the delivered software meets the original business requirements and quality standards.
Governance: Ensure all solutions comply with company policies regarding Data Privacy (GDPR) and Information Security.
5. General
Know the company policies.
Know the Environmental, Quality and Information Security objectives and goals established for the company.
Follow the policy and procedures in the Environmental, Quality and Information Security Management related to your role.
Properly manage the assets assigned to you.
Properly manage risks if you own any risk identified by the organization.
Actively participate in the adoption and implementation of corrective and improvement actions.
Requirements
Education & Experience
Experience: 6+ years as a Product Owner, Technical Project Manager, or Senior Systems Analyst.
Web Ecosystems: Proven experience managing complex, data-heavy web applications and dashboards.
Technical Background: A degree in Computer Science or Business IT is preferred; you must be able to "speak dev" fluently.
Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
Expert Documentation: Mastery of Bitbucket and modeling tools (UML, BPMN,...).
Technical Literacy: Strong understanding of API-led architecture, SQL, and Saa S environments (ideally Google Cloud Platform).
Methodology: Deep knowledge of Agile/Scrum and the ability to adapt it to a multi-project remote environment.
Preferably knowledge of JIRA and Confluence.
Soft Skills
Diplomatic Authority: The ability to say "no" or "not yet" to senior stakeholders firmly but professionally.
Analytical Rigor: A meticulous eye for detail, you spot the "edge cases" before they become bugs.
Communication: Fluent in English and Spanish (mandatory), with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical users.
Resilience: Comfortable being the "calm in the storm" when dealing with competing deadlines and high-demand situations.
If you are a structured and technically fluent Product Owner who thrives at the intersection of business and development, we would love to hear from you.
