Define regional policies, procedures, guidelines, standards, and compliance programs related to environmental and sustainability topics.Lead the implementation of these policies and programs to enhance environmental awareness across sites and leadership teams.Identify new environmental and sustainability topics based on regulations, company expectations, and customer demands, and proactively implement necessary requirements.Communicate environmental issues and assist in resolving them according to regulations and best practices.Provide visibility on environmental performance, progress, and issues to leadership.Evaluate performance against compliance goals, and provide coaching and guidance to improve environmental and sustainability results, tracking metrics via digital tools.Organize environmental audits and inspections to identify deviations and opportunities for improvement, maintaining a database of environmental data per site.Support the introduction of new products, equipment, or systems from an environmental perspective, ensuring all related topics are considered.Propose improvement actions, necessary CAPEX, or environmental projects to meet legal requirements or enhance facilities.Support environmental emergency preparedness and response activities, including training requirements.Assist sites in developing compliance assurance programs and tools, especially where dedicated EHS resources are limited.Coordinate incident investigations related to environmental impacts and non-conformances, monitoring corrective actions.Qualifications
Bachelor's or Engineering degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, or related fields, with a Master's in Environment preferred.Certifications related to waste, wastewater, and air pollution.At least 10 years of experience in environmental management, with leadership roles.Fluent in English.Experience with European Union environmental regulations and willingness to learn local regulations across countries.Knowledge of ISO sustainability standards, environmental management systems, energy management, carbon footprint, GHG, and life cycle assessment.Experience with programs like zero-pellet loss and certifications such as OCS Europe.Knowledge of best available techniques for environmental impact reduction in sectors like wastewater treatment, gas treatment, hazardous waste management, and energy efficiency.Ability to understand production processes and identify environmental impacts and solutions, defining KPIs for compliance and sustainability.Experience in industrial environments with engineering insight into production processes.Skills in emergency preparedness and response activities.Excellent written and oral communication skills, capable of engaging at all organizational levels.Ability to analyze plant issues, develop solutions, and implement them effectively.Strong self-management, motivation for continuous improvement, and adaptability to new methods and ideas.
