Wärtsilä Gas Solutions is developing the Product Management function by strengthening the ownership and management of the portfolio products.
We are also increasing support for the product lifecycle by developing our data and document management systems to ensure the availability of information for all functions from sales to services.
Work location : We are evaluating several locations depending on applicants and competence.
We are now recruiting Product Owners for VOC (Volatile Organic Compound) Products.
If you are a Process Engineer with a background in simulation on Oil Processing on FPSOs, FSO’s and/or shuttle tankers and have experience using e.g., Petroleum / Oil Manager in Aspentech or similar software, you might very well be the right candidate, so do not hesitate to apply for the position.
Responsibilities :
1. Develop, maintain, and optimise the product portfolio.
2. Align between product families and technical disciplines: interfaces, capacities, functionality, and best engineering practice.
3. Evaluate change requests, feedback & lessons learned, understand the cost impact, and assign actions to develop and implement needed change.
4. Be responsible for portfolio design packages including process description, risk analysis, and risk assessments.
5. Manage the Product Portfolio (including Technical maturity risk). Evaluate the products and initiate development projects as well as phase-out needs for old products.
6. Lead product launch, deliver technical content for sales & marketing, provide training, and define value propositions to customers together with Sales Manager.
7. Receive Conceptual Solution Specs from Sales Manager / Solution Development for specific technical challenges & participate in BID-approval meetings.
8. Participate in meetings with customers for escalated technical questions outside the scope of Solution Development.
9. Support projects with technical questions and participate in technical kick-off meetings with PM, especially when there are reported deviations.
10. Support sourcing with component criticality rating against suppliers.
11. Support Services with technical questions.
12. Participate in developing tools and processes needed for Technology Development and Product Portfolio Management.
13. Support the Technology Development to Market process.
14. Maintain responsibility for engineering-BOM in SAP for standard products.
Accountabilities :
1. Define strategy and development objectives connected to the Product in alignment with Gas Solution's overall strategy.
2. Support Market-driven R&D in collaboration with Innovation and Sales.
3. Manage Product Portfolio – standardization, revision optimization, versions, and options.
4. Support sales by providing technical specifications of standard products.
5. Support project execution and commissioning.
6. Conduct life cycle analysis and chain evaluations.
7. Perform yearly criticality ratings.
8. Follow up on Product environmental targets.
Qualifications :
1. Higher technical education, Master’s degree or equivalent in Process Engineering / Mechanical Engineering.
2. Experience in using Excel.
3. Fluent in English, both verbally and in writing.
4. 3-5 years of experience; recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
5. Energetic with a strong desire to contribute to the transition from fossil to green energy.
6. Proactive and responsible for actions.
7. Strong self-drive, motivation, and ability to work across disciplines.
8. Team player.
