We are seeking a detail oriented and reliable Bookkeeper to join our Finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day accounting tasks, and supporting the overall financial operations of the organization.
IDP (International Direct Packaging), one of the leading general packaging companies (established in 1992 with HQ in the UK), is looking for a financial controller for our office in Spain.
Our Spanish based office is essential for taking care of our clients within the EU as well as globally.
Who are we and what do we do?
At IDP we design packaging, manufacture packaging, and provide global logistics with a local presence all under one roof. We support brands with complete supply chain optimization because packaging is more than your logo on a box. Our client portfolio includes a large range of well-known luxury brands (e.g. Loewe, Celine, Chanel and many others) that we service worldwide.
Our factories are in-house, which keeps quality high and consistent.
Besides the parent company in Ireland, we have subsidiaries in Ireland, USA, Japan and Korea. The subsidiary in the USA handles the North American market and is also the base of our Global Operations Department. In general, we operate in a very decentralized manner, with our Operations department based in the USA, the CEO and CFO based in Spain where have an office with 12 employees.

● is an experienced user of Excel, and knows how it can simplify your daily tasks
● is able to prioritize your tasks in busy periods
● has knowledge of VAT rules in Ireland and within the EU (not a requirement)
● gets things done - in the right quality at the right time
Primary tasks
● Maintain and update financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments
● Process invoices, expense reports, and payroll transactions
● Reconcile bank statements and ensure accuracy of financial data
● Monitor accounts payable and accounts receivable
● Preparing financial reports and summaries for management
● Preparing VAT submission for various EU countries
In addition, you demonstrate commercial acumen, common sense, and the ability to deal effectively with clients and colleagues in different parts of the world.
We expect you to take responsibility for your own tasks, meet all deadlines, and work independently.
You will become part of our Finance team consisting of 5 colleagues, who are based in the UK, Ireland, and Spain. We have a flat and very informal organisational structure and strive for an open and direct working environment.
