SCOPE OF ROLE :
The Operations Director is the key stakeholder for the operations of Airport Dining & Lounge Businesses, including Aerotel, covering Food & Beverage, Culinary, Facilities Management, Concepts, and Food Safety. He/She is responsible for managing Business Units to achieve optimal results and appropriate investment models, overseeing operations in Madrid to ensure efficient performance.
RESPONSIBILITIES :
* Create a high-performance culture by setting, understanding, and cascading business and individual objectives.
* Establish excellent internal communication through regular, transparent communication and cross-functional collaboration to maximize synergies.
* Lead, inspire, develop, and engage a talented workforce aligned with strategic and future business needs, driving efficiencies and effectiveness.
* Collaborate with country and executive leadership to define the organization's long-term mission and goals, supporting talent management.
* Identify and execute KPIs across commercial, operations, finance, and HR, reviewing them quarterly.
* Understand operational departments such as Guest Services, Facilities Management, Housekeeping, Culinary, Food & Beverage, Customer Engagement, and Quality Assurance.
* Ensure adherence to corporate policies and procedures, recommending improvements where necessary.
* Leverage technology to improve efficiency, including automation and optimization.
* Lead the country during crises.
* Address audit findings with relevant stakeholders and implement corrective actions promptly.
* Support strategic planning to drive revenue, EBITDA, productivity, market share, staff development, and technology, with measurable KPIs.
* Review performance indexes regularly, focusing on business results, customer and staff satisfaction, and implement necessary actions.
* Conceptualize and implement new F&B concepts with HQ and stakeholders, supporting brand and Food Safety standards.
* Support the openings team during new business launches.
* Understand and train colleagues on Crisis Management Manual and Business Continuity Plan, including conducting drills.
* Liaise with country and commercial leadership to develop and execute strategies.
* Assist finance teams with guidelines and responsibilities, managing revenue streams, cost efficiencies, and savings without compromising customer or brand experience.
* Propose new concepts for business growth through product differentiation.
REQUIREMENTS :
* Degree in Business Administration or related field, or equivalent experience.
* Minimum 5+ years in senior management within Airport Dining, F&B, Airline, or Hospitality industry.
* At least 10 years of experience in F&B.
* Experience in opening new F&B outlets or business units.
* Experience managing high-level service agreements and stakeholders, including vendors and contractors.
* Strong commercial acumen with solid F&B operations experience.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure and set clear expectations.
* Experience working collaboratively in hierarchical environments.
