We are establishing a specialized chip technology pilot line in Malaga (Spain) to complement our existing 300mm advanced CMOS process line in Leuven, Belgium. This new facility will focus on new process developments and materials to support R&D, prototyping, and manufacturing of new technologies for applications in healthcare, life sciences, photonics, AR/VR, and sensing.
Are you excited about pioneering Spain's first 300mm cleanroom? We are looking for a Mechanical Facilities Engineer to join our engineering team!
About your role
You will initially work for two years at our Belgium headquarters in the FAIN engineering department. Afterward, you will relocate to Malaga, Spain, to oversee operation and maintenance of mechanical installations at our new site, including a cleanroom (FAB) and supporting facilities such as warehouses and offices. These include systems for cooling, heating, ventilation, high-purity water, and wastewater treatment.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Design phase involvement: Collaborate with engineers and project managers to review and challenge design concepts, ensuring technical accuracy and operational efficiency.
* Maintenance strategy & planning: Lead an operational team to develop and implement maintenance strategies and schedules.
* KPI Monitoring & problem solving: Define and monitor maintenance KPIs, analyze recurring issues, and propose solutions.

About you
* Master’s degree in industrial or engineering sciences.
* At least 5 years of relevant technical experience.
* Broad knowledge of building technology or specialized knowledge in cooling, heating, ventilation, or water treatment systems.
* Proactive, ownership-driven, and team-oriented.
* Excellent communication skills in English and Spanish.
* Willingness to relocate to Malaga after two years in Belgium.
