We are seeking Technical Team Leads to ensure delivery excellence and quality standards across our application-level products. In this role, you will guide a compact team of 3-5 engineers developing educational applications that serve thousands of students.

* Athena: AI-powered video and assessment generation delivering quantifiable learning results
* TeachTap: AI-driven platform that animates historical personalities in a TikTok-style educational format
* TeachTales: Customized, immersive storytelling designed to enhance reading comprehension
* TrashCat: Game-based learning that transforms education into an engaging experience
This position balances individual contribution with leadership: you will spend 50% of your time building sophisticated features and 50% developing your team's capabilities. You define quality expectations, create architectural patterns, conduct code reviews with an instructional approach, and facilitate engineer development. Team success is your responsibility, not solely individual output.
Lean structure, significant autonomy, minimal administrative overhead. Technical leadership is yours; people management is handled separately.
What You Will Be Doing
* Implementing sophisticated features that establish technical direction for the team
* Conducting pull request reviews with comprehensive, instructional commentary
* Developing engineers through pair programming and constructive feedback
* Orchestrating technical efforts and decomposing product requirements
* Defining quality benchmarks and ensuring team adherence
What You Won’t Be Doing
* Handling personnel management (recruitment, termination, performance evaluations, career development discussions)
* Building platform or infrastructure-level systems
* Attending excessive meetings
* Designing architecture in isolation from hands-on development
Basic Requirements
* Minimum 5 years of full‑stack development experience
* Minimum 2 years in a leadership capacity (conducting code reviews, mentoring developers, defining team standards)
* Proven history of delivering SaaS products
* Practical experience integrating AI tools into development processes
* Confirmed capability to elevate other engineers' skills and performance

Working with us
This is a full‑time (40 hours per week), long‑term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $100 USD/hour, which equates to $200,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
