We are seeking an ambitious Renewable Energy Project Scout & Manager for Emerging Markets to join a client's dynamic non-profit organization in Renewable Energy. The ideal candidate will be passionate about advancing growth in the global renewable energy sector, focusing on biomass and biogas projects.
Your Responsibilities:
1. Lead sourcing, planning, and implementation of biomass, biogas, and other renewable energy projects.
2. Identify new opportunities and establish partnerships in developing countries globally.
3. Oversee technical project implementation, including concept development, design, supplier selection, procurement, and compliance measures.
4. Travel once or twice a year (up to 10 days) to monitor progress, develop leads, and expand networks.
5. Draft and negotiate contracts with local partners, ensuring compliance with environmental and economic standards.
6. Manage CO₂ certification processes (e.g., Article 6.4, Gold Standard) to meet project goals, timelines, and budgets.
7. Coordinate cross-sectional tasks across multiple CO₂-offset projects.
8. Participate in tenders and liaise with clients and sales teams.
9. Ensure technical management and quality assurance of project deliverables while leading project teams.
Qualifications:
1. Fluent in English; French is a plus.
2. Degree in engineering, environmental protection, natural sciences, or social sciences.
3. At least 2 years of relevant renewable energy experience, especially with biomass and biogas.
4. Strong commitment to environmental and climate protection.
5. Experience with drafting and implementing international loan agreements.
6. Networking experience in Africa, Asia, or Latin America.
7. Background in banking or legal matters within startups is advantageous.
