Title: Field Engineer
Location: Madrid, Spain
Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for fiber optics network field activity, Long haul and metro, Transport and Routers
2. Implementation of long haul and metro network augmentation, coordination and installation
3. Work with Network Planning to provide Field perspective to network deployment as well as to provide expertise in deployments.
4. Organize projects with contractors and internal staff
Qualifications: travel by car and/or plane 20%+of time, remote office the rest of the time, at least 5+ years’ experience on telecommunication networks
Required
5. Working knowledge on telecom infrastructure.
6. Experience in the use of optical test equipment: power meters, OTDRs, OSAs, and interpretation of test results
7. Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
8. High-energy individual with interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate peers, and drive project to completion
9. Field experience in DWDM / SDH / IP networks
Desired
10. Experience managing vendors and carriers
11. Successful project management experience.
12. Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent experience, certifications, or training
