Amazon Fresh is seeking a Vendor Manager for a temporary position (6 months) to cover a maternity leave. We are looking for a bright, customer-obsessed, data-driven candidate with vendor negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills to join our team. You will play a key role in helping us achieve our growth objectives by delivering significant performance improvements for our Grocery business, enhancing the customer offer, expanding product selection, and strengthening relationships with some of our largest suppliers in Spain.
We expect the Vendor Manager to be a passionate customer and category advocate within Amazon, with proven ability to develop and manage relationships, drive results, and demonstrate competency in business and financial analytics. The Vendor Manager must be an effective leader and communicator when working with Amazon partners and vendors, as well as with internal cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a passion for retail and a high level of flexibility and commitment.
The candidate should possess experience in buying and/or finance. You must be a team player, comfortable with ambiguity, able to communicate persuasively, and capable of influencing internal and external stakeholders at all levels. Strong communication skills and proficiency in Excel will be essential to your success.
Key responsibilities
* Manage relationships with vendors and set and drive priorities such as Lifecycle Management planning, profitability, cross functional marketing planning, and optimizing logistics set ups to deliver lower landed costs
* Plan and deliver annual and ongoing terms negotiation improvements
* Monitor and research industry and competitive trends to make sure that Amazon is offering the best for the customer
* Develop selection plans for Grocery categories
* Build and manage promotional strategy for your vendors, deliver product differentiation for customers and analyze and communicate vendor performance
* Seek out ways to automate & simplify manual processes in order to improve productivity
Basic Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
* Experience influencing internal and external stakeholders
* Experience with purchasing or inventory management in e-commerce or retail
* Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
* Experience in managing multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
* Fluent in English and Spanish
* Proficiency with Excel and data analysis
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience leading process improvements
* Experience dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering measurable results in an agile environment
