The Data & Performance (D&P) organization drives the company’s agenda to deliver Trust Data @ Scale. It also owns the company’s data security strategy and initiatives to ensure proper data guardrails are in place.
Aligned with our Code of Conduct, the Trust Charter, and the regulatory landscape, we are seeking an experienced Data Risk Lead with an innovative, agile, and pragmatic mindset to secure data flows, architecture, bolster regulatory compliance, and future-proof our Data Strategy against existing and emerging threats.
What will you do?
* Lead data risk management activities, focusing on data privacy and protection, governing the rollout of policies, controls, standards, and maturity measurement.
* Lead key Data Risk & Security Portfolio initiatives, such as our data privacy and protection program.
* Support data risk governance topics such as data risk assessments, privacy reviews, DPIA, data residence, or data localization.
* Engage proactively with the network of Data Officers & Data Domains regarding Data Risk, providing guidance and mentoring as needed.
* Promote innovation and knowledge exchange on data risk best practices, education, and awareness initiatives.
* Utilize data and learnings from incidents, assessments, and audits to inform our strategy.
* Provide dashboards for management visibility of data risks.
* Manage ISO 27701 compliance and drive maturity.
* Collaborate with internal and external teams to achieve objectives.
* Develop and deliver training, education, and awareness initiatives.
* Guide and ensure Business Data Offices’ ongoing compliance with Schneider Electric security, legal, and data privacy policies and standards.
What qualifications will make you successful for this role?
The candidate should have an industry-recognized privacy certification (e.g., CIPT or CIPP/E) and/or an academic degree.
* Experience in consulting or IT advisory roles is valuable.
* Relevant experience in data security, product, or digital topics, including data classification or leakage.
* Ability to simplify complex topics into succinct stories for executives (e.g., 1-pager PowerPoint).
* Risk assessment, management skills, and audit capabilities, including certifications and experience with security incidents and reporting.
* Experience in developing security policies and processes.
* Ability to collaborate with vendors, digital teams, and business functions.
* Knowledge and experience in data analytics, security, or data access.
Professional Experience and Competences
* 4 to 6 years of relevant professional experience in the privacy field, including performing privacy reviews.
* A law degree can be relevant; candidates with different backgrounds will also be considered.
* Privacy and/or Information Security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CIPP, CIPM) and knowledge of privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, NIST CSF) are desirable.
* Education or external accreditation in data protection, security, audit, quality, or risk management is a plus.
* Strong communication and collaboration skills, including technical communication.
* Ability to handle complex information, solve problems, and manage multiple tasks.
* Strong organizational skills.
* Soft skills include customer focus, innovation orientation, creativity, pragmatism, and relationship building.
* Excellent problem-solving, written, and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to work under tight deadlines and self-prioritize.
* Team player and relationship builder.
* Understanding of company strategy and its relation to data strategy.
