Context and Mission
We are seeking a postdoc to join the Learning and Machine Perception (LAMP) team. This is a temporary position for 6 months.
He/she will work on optimization techniques for fast retraining of deep neural networks. The project is within the context of sustainable AI, where the current paradigm of retraining from scratch is replaced by a methodology based on continual learning of networks. The focus will be on optimization techniques which prevent the stability gap (which temporarily reduces the network performance).
**The tasks include**:
(i) Implementation of algorithms for fast adaptation to new data.
(ii) the writing of the research results in a publication.
(iii) supervision of master and/or PhD students related to the project.
**Requirements**:
Background in machine learning and deep learning.
Knowledge of continual learning and optimization theory is desired but not mandatory.
Experience in competitive research projects in public research institutions will be highly evaluated (18 months minimum)
Other merits
Experience superior to that required in similar positions.
Valuable experience in Catalan public research entities.

We offer a full-time contract (37.5h/week) temporary contract.
