You’re someone who enjoys tackling complex, multi-variable problems in a fast-moving, collaborative environment, with a natural curiosity to continuously learn and adapt. /ppbr/ppbThe Role /b /pp In this role, you will play a key part in advancing material modelling capabilities, with responsibilities including: /pulliDeveloping models to understand interactions between advanced materials and excited atomic or molecular species, enabling quantitative validation of physical processes. /liliBuilding and refining simulation frameworks across a range of material systems, incorporating activation mechanisms, defect formation, and their impact on downstream performance. /liliCollaborating closely with internal teams and external partners to optimise material behaviour and overall system outcomes. /li /ulpbr/ppbRequirements /b /pulliPhD in Computational Chemistry, Physics, or a related discipline, with a strong emphasis on quantum-level modelling (e.g. surface chemistry, bond dissociation, adsorbate systems). /liliStrong grounding in core chemical principles, particularly surface and interface phenomena. /liliHands-on experience with quantum simulation approaches such as density functional theory (DFT), molecular orbital methods, or similar techniques. /li /ulpbr/ppbPreferred Experience /b /pulliExposure to surface modification driven by photons, electrons, or other energetic particles. /lili1–2 years of postdoctoral or industry experience. /liliExperience working alongside experimental teams or in lab-based environments. /liliProficiency in Python or similar scientific computing tools. /liliAny experience with advanced material systems used in patterning or fabrication environments is highly advantageous. /li /ulpbr/ppFollowing your application Jake Phillips, a specialist recruiter will discuss the opportunity with you in detail.
