OverviewThe Business Developer plays a pivotal role in expanding Alvalle beyond its current markets, acting as a commercial strategist and insights driven business architect. The position is responsible for identifying, evaluating, modelling, and prioritizing new market and channel opportunities, enabling Alvalle's transition from a locally relevant proposition to a sustainably scalable international business within PepsiCo's Food Ventures agenda.
The role focuses on researching market trends, analyzing consumer needs, and identifying potential customers or market segments that maximize Alvalle's strategic fit across geographies. A core component of the role is the end to end development of selling stories that convert complex market, consumer, and competitive intelligence into clear, compelling, and data driven commercial narratives. These narratives must effectively influence retailers, distributors, strategic partners, internal decision bodies, and senior cross functional stakeholders.
This position requires a blend of commercial acumen, analytical rigor, structured problem solving, and cross functional leadership, operating across multiple markets to build the foundations of Alvalle's future growth.
ResponsibilitiesA. Market & Consumer Trend Analysis
Conduct comprehensive market assessments across priority geographies, evaluating category dynamics, shopper behavior, consumption patterns, and emerging trends.
Integrate multiple insight sources (retail panels, consumer/shopper research, ad‐hoc qualitative/quantitative studies, competitor intelligence, internal performance data) to generate holistic, fact‐based perspectives.
Identify demand spaces, consumer missions, and unmet needs to inform commercial opportunity sizing and route‐to‐market considerations.
B. Opportunity Identification & Prioritization
Assess market attractiveness using structured frameworks covering category size, growth potential, competitive intensity, channel structure, regulatory considerations, price corridors, and operational feasibility.
Identify potential customers, partners, distributors, and channel opportunities aligned with PepsiCo's capabilities and Alvalle's unique value proposition.
Build prioritization models to determine entry sequencing, recommending actionable launch pathways based on commercial impact, investment needs, and strategic alignment.
C. Commercial Strategy & Route‐to‐Market Design
Recommend optimal route‐to‐market (direct, partner‐led, hybrid), based on channel architecture, capability requirements, economics, and local competitive context.
Define commercial guidelines including target consumer segments, pricing corridors, trade conditions considerations, and portfolio fit for each geography.
Identify product adaptation requirements needed to ensure compliance, competitiveness, and relevance in market.
D. Selling Story Development – Core and Strategic Role
Develop high‐impact, data‐driven selling stories for customers, channels, and markets, incorporating:
category opportunity and strategic rationale,
consumer and shopper insights,
commercial value, economics, and growth potential,
strategic fit with customer priorities,
expected velocity, penetration, and profitability.
Translate complex analytical outputs into clear, compelling narratives tailored to different stakeholders and channels (retail, foodservice, horeca, convenience, e‐commerce).
Serve as the organizational expert for Alvalle's international commercial narrative, ensuring consistency and quality of all commercial storytelling across markets.
Support customer‐facing teams (local and regional) during high‐stakes meetings with retailers, distributors, and partners, providing robust, evidence‐based selling arguments.
E. Business Case Development
Build robust and comprehensive business cases supporting market entries, channel expansion, and strategic partnerships.
Conduct scenario modelling, sensitivity analyses, and risk assessments to guide investment decisions.
Evaluate market, competition, commercial feasibility, and portfolio implications associated with each recommendation.
F. Cross‐Functional Leadership
Collaborate with Insights, Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, Strategy (anchor markets), and Food Ventures teams to drive cross‐functional alignment on recommendations.
Lead multicountry workstreams, coordinating research, analysis, stakeholder engagement, and governance reviews.
Ensure consistency between insights, commercial strategy, and selling narratives delivered to internal and external stakeholders.
Key KPIs / Deliverables
Quality, rigor, and depth of market and consumer analyses across targeted geographies.
Identification, quantification, and documentation of commercial opportunities and priority segments.
Clear, evidence‐based prioritization of markets, channels, and commercial partners.

Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree desirable (Business, Economics, Marketing, Analytics, or related field).
