The Environmental Engineer must be familiar with all environmental technical and legal aspects related to permitting process of the Renewable Project activities.

The Environmental Engineer will also be responsible for managing and tracking environmental data and environmental obligations during construction and operational phases to ensure compliance with standards and regulations. During these phases, it is necessary to collaborate with project managers to support all environmental requirements, both legal and technical, that projects may require.
The main market of activities will be Spain, but experience in Italy market as well as in Latam and USA will be highly valuable.
Responsibilities:
Actively engage in the development/preparation of projects and ensure compliance with local environmental laws and regulations and lenders’ policies.
Supervise the Environmental Supplier’s work at the project level, including coordinate with the lenders on environmental related matters.
Ensure integration of the Environmental and Social Management Plan into contracts of contractors and subcontractors. Review EPC and O&M contracts in terms of environmental compliance.
Review the effective implementation of the Environmental Management Plan at the Project Site. Review Environmental Supplier’s reports.
Lead internal and external reporting, including Monitoring Reports to project team, Environmental Audits, etc
Managing relationships with communities, government agencies and other stakeholders on the environmental aspect.
Work as a team member in the project/site team, including support to the project development managers and site managers.
Facilitate training of relevant Company staff in environmental and social aspects.
Requirements:
A graduate/postgraduate in Environmental Engineering/Sciences. Any additional certification in environmental with respect to the project implementation is added advantage.
5+ Years of proven experience in the environmental impact assessment and other environmental management of renewable energy power plants in Spain emphasizing wind and photovoltaic technologies
Advanced experience in Geographic Information software: ArcGIS, ArcView, QGIS, AutoCad.
In-deep knowledge of the permitting process for renewable energy power plants
Proven understanding of environmental regulation in Spanish market as well as for other countries in Europe, USA and Latam
Fluent in English
