Job Title : Sustainability Specialist (Ethics & Human Rights)

Why we need this role
The Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) team supports and facilitates the development of a robust ESG strategy, ensuring our sustainability activities go beyond compliance. We aim to deliver an industry-leading ESG programme and raise awareness among all Colt employees. As a global leader in digital infrastructure, we are committed to reducing our environmental impact and strengthening our social and governance responsibilities. We also support our customers, suppliers, and strategic partners in achieving these goals. This role will support the business in executing the ESG strategy, focusing on Human Rights, Ethics, and sustainable procurement, through leading workstreams and collaborating across groups, while enhancing EU Taxonomy alignment and supply chain engagement.
What you will do
1. Lead and develop ESG workstreams related to human rights, ethics, conflict minerals, supply chain decarbonisation, etc.
2. Collaborate with ESG Data Analysts and external consultants to develop metrics and dashboards that provide meaningful insights across functions.
3. Work with HR, Procurement, and other teams to embed ESG understanding and EU Taxonomy requirements.
4. Assist in creating policies and processes to promote and protect human rights, ethical practices, decarbonisation, and compliance, including recommending corrective actions.
5. Coordinate with ESG leadership to define and implement internal and external communication strategies about ESG, ethics, and human rights issues.
6. Engage with colleagues at all levels on alignment with SBTs, CSRD, and EU taxonomy standards.
7. Advise and support colleagues on sustainability matters and develop policies to embed sustainability practices across the business.
8. Collaborate with external organizations and stakeholders to enhance supply chain data collection and share best practices (e.g., CDP Supply Chain, UNGC, Responsible Business Initiative, WEC).
9. Stay updated on industry trends, conduct research on ethical and human rights issues, and translate insights into actionable business strategies.
10. Work with procurement to engage suppliers on sustainability, ensuring alignment with ESG strategies and EU Taxonomy.
11. Identify and scope innovative pilot projects or collaborations with suppliers to support CSRD/EU Taxonomy compliance and Science-Based Targets, including research, planning, and implementation.
12. Establish mechanisms for reporting and addressing ethical breaches or human rights violations within the organization and supply chain.
13. Serve as a liaison between the ESG team and Sales to promote ESG value propositions and support bid processes.
Skills & Experience :
* Experience in the sustainability field, emphasizing human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.
* Understanding of human rights and ethics activities to drive organizational change.
* Excellent communication skills in English, capable of articulating the sustainability narrative effectively.
* Collaborative approach to developing and implementing complex sustainability solutions.
* Strong knowledge of the sustainability landscape and the ability to communicate it clearly to stakeholders.
