Senior Director, Clinical Operations | Global Biotech Opportunity Remote in Spain
We are partnering with an innovative and fast-growing biotech organisation to appoint a Senior Director, Clinical Operations to lead the strategic delivery of general clinical programs across complex and high-impact therapeutic areas. This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the end-to-end operational execution of Phase I–IV clinical trials, driving operational excellence, quality, compliance, and cross-functional collaboration within a dynamic R&D; environment.
Key Responsibilities: • Lead global clinical operations strategy and execution across multiple studies and programs • Oversee study start-up, vendor management, budgets, timelines, monitoring strategy, and study close-out • Partner closely with Clinical Development, Regulatory Affairs, PV, Biostatistics, Data Management, Medical Affairs, and Clinical Supply • Drive inspection readiness, operational quality, and risk mitigation across all clinical activities • Manage CROs and external vendors to ensure delivery against timelines, budget, and quality expectations • Lead, mentor, and develop Clinical Operations teams within a collaborative and high-performing environment • Support portfolio planning, feasibility assessments, and strategic R&D; decision-making
Ideal Background: • 10+ years’ experience within Clinical Operations in biotech or pharma environments • Strong leadership experience managing complex global clinical programs •
Expertise within Neurology, CNS disorders, rare diseases, or advanced therapies highly preferred • Strong knowledge of GCP, ICH, EMA/FDA regulations, and modern clinical trial methodologies • Experience with CRO oversight, clinical systems (CTMS/eTMF), budgeting, and risk-based monitoring • MSc, PhD, PharmD, MD, or related Life Sciences background preferred This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly science-driven organisation focused on innovation, collaboration, and advancing meaningful therapies for patients globally.
