We are looking for a Senior Electrical Engineer with strong experience in satellite electrical design and development, particularly in flight projects. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise in spacecraft electrical architectures and power systems, combined with the ability to lead complex designs across the full project lifecycle, from concept to launch.
Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of spacecraft electrical architectures, with a focus on power systems and associated electronics.
Contribute to system design activities throughout all project phases, from concept and design to integration, testing, and launch.
Work with regulated and unregulated power buses, including peak power tracking solutions.
Coordinate and collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams across different domains.
Participate in AIT campaigns for Earth Observation satellites and/or launchers.
Support verification and validation activities during C and D phases, including work with EGSE and test environments.
Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and program requirements.
Address complex technical challenges with a strong problem‑solving mindset, delivering robust and innovative solutions.
Qualifications
Minimum five years of experience in satellite electrical design and development or similar roles, including flight projects.
Strong knowledge of spacecraft solar arrays, battery technologies, and power electronics.
Experience with regulated and unregulated power buses and peak power tracking.
Familiarity with industry standards such as ECSS, MIL-STD, and NASA standards.
Proficiency in system analysis and development tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, and Altium.
Proven experience leading system design through the full lifecycle, from concept to launch.
Familiarity with AIT campaigns in the context of Earth Observation satellites and/or launchers.
Practical experience in the aeronautical or aerospace sector, especially in electrical architecture.
Experience in ESA or European space programmes is considered a plus.
Familiarity with EGSE and test environments during C and D satellite project phases.
Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to understand and apply new concepts to engineering challenges.
Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and with external stakeholders.
Professional working proficiency in English.
Experience with harness derating for space systems.
Experience with cross‑strapping in space systems.
Understanding of spacecraft power management.
Experience in space hardware design, particularly filters and power input stages.
Experience in HW AIT/AIV, V&V cycles, and knowledge of real‑time environments such as dSpace or Speedgoat.
