The BETA Technology Centre is made up of a young multidisciplinary team of more than 130 researchers and is looking to recruit a dynamic individual who is keen to be part of this project. We are looking for a laboratory Technician who will provide experimental and sample analysis support to the centre's researchers, focusing primarily on research and innovation projects in the Sustainable Agricultural and Food Systems Unit.
Functions and Duties
- Physical-chemical characterisation of soil and plant biomass samples.
- Respirometry.
- Performing analyses related to studies on the increase in soil organic matter.
- Performing analyses related to tests for the agronomic evaluation of bio‑fertilisers.
Requirements
According to Spanish Royal Decree 889/2022, official recognition of qualifications issued abroad may grant access to regulated professions in Spain. If you apply for a teaching and research staff (PDI) or 100% research staff (PI) post or a professional service staff post (PTGAS) without official recognition of the university degree required in the call, you should submit a declaration of equivalence together with a Spanish translation of your degree certificate. Non‑compliance will lead to termination of your employment contract.
Title – Intermediate vocational training in fields related to the subject of the call for applications. Certification of Level C1 in Catalan or commitment to obtain it. Accreditation of Level B2 in English or commitment to obtain it.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in other chemical analysis laboratories, preferably in the field of soil science and research.
- Knowledge of classical analytical techniques (gravimetry and volumetry).
Other Requirements
- University degree in: Agricultural Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Agronomy, Biotechnology, Plant Production, Environmental Sciences or similar.
- Experience in characterising samples and fertiliser products.
- Knowledge of Instrumental Analytical Chemistry, mainly: Ion Chromatography, Gas Chromatography, Atomic Absorption, Instrumental Combustion Techniques.
