Your responsibilities and tasks
Strategical:
- Following the local strategy determined by the NPE Division Representative as responsible for the legal entity GEA Process Engineering S.A. and the integral overall strategy of the NPE Division and LFT Business Unit Management, to support the medium and long-term objectives of the company.
- Follow and promote the medium and long-term objectives of standardization / modularization in Liquid Process Engineering as well as develop high level competences of liquid process design.
- Follow and promote the right process design procedures and tools to achieve a continuous improvement strategy that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability.
- To propose development initiatives within the department.
- Driving a high level of employee team engagement by effectively communicating company strategy and vision
- Keeping a comfortable environment that permit a real team building result in his/her team.
Operational:
- Report to the Process Engineering Manager and contribute to the strategic objectives of the department.
- Develop process designs and solutions to support presales activities and project development.
- Collaborate with the sales team to provide technical support in reviewing Requests for Quotation (RFQs) and preparing budgeting for quotation submissions.
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements to incorporate innovative process solutions into project designs.
- Assist in the development and implementation of process engineering standards and best practices.
- Conduct process calculations, simulations, and modeling to optimize equipment selection, sizing, and performance.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to develop process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs;), and equipment specifications.
- Support project engineers in technical decision-making and feasibility assessments.
- Perform risk assessments and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Provide technical guidance to project teams during the execution phase.
- Support sales department on meetings with clients
- Utilize its extensive experience and technical knowledge to create comprehensive and accurate P&IDs; using AutoCAD Plant 3D platform.
- Review and verify completed drafts for compliance with design standards, codes, and project requirements.
Interface with others
- Maintain effective communication and collaboration with the Process Engineering Manager, project engineers, sales team, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Coordinate with other engineering disciplines to integrate process designs with mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
Reporting
- Provide regular progress updates and reports to the Process Engineering Manager and project stakeholders.
Your profile and qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience as a process engineer, preferably in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical, or bioprocessing industry.
- Strong knowledge of process engineering principles, including mass and energy balances, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and process equipment design.
- Proficiency in process simulation software and CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for process design and modeling.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., FDA, cGMP, EHEDG).
- Experience in RFQ review, budgeting, and quotation preparations.
- Project management skills and the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Spanish (native) & English (B2/C1).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Continuous learning mindset to stay updated with industry advancements and technologies.
