About CragCRAG is an independent research institution engaged in leading-edge basic and applied plant and farm animal sciences.
CRAG is established as a Consortium of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), Institute of Agrifood Research and Technology (IRTA), Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), and University of Barcelona (UB).
The Center is located at the UAB Campus, and currently hosts 200 members from across the world.Research Programs at CRAG (from basic science to applied research using plant experimental model systems, crops and farm animals) make extensive use of genomic technologies and large sets of genetic and genomic data.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport microalgae/yeast/E.coli transformation using luciferase-containing plasmids.Assess protein expression levels in transformed microalgae/yeast.Maintain and culture microalgae strains under laboratory conditions.Optimize transformation protocols to enhance efficiency and stability.Prepare and analyse experimental data, documenting results accurately.Assist in troubleshooting technical challenges related to microalgae transformation and bioluminescence assays.Follow laboratory safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.Collaborate with researchers to refine bioluminescence testing methods. The tasks will be carried out under the project "Desarrollo de Chlamydomonas reinhardtii degradadoras de microplásticos", with code PID***********OB-I00RequirementsEducationDegree in Biology, Biochemistry or BiotechnologySkillsBasic knowledge in plant molecular biologyStrong attention to detail and ability to document results preciselyAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a scientific team.Excellent problem-solving skills and adaptability in a research environmentExperienceExperience in microalgae/yeast transformation, microalgae/yeast culture will be positively valued.Working ConditionsContract Duration: 2 monthsHours/week: 30.0hStarting date: November of ****Submitting ApplicationsPlease submit all the application through CRAG website: is committed to the principles of the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers of the European Commission.
