In 2021-22 we reached 650 million people.**Job Overview**The British Council School Madrid board is currently seeking to appoint an outstanding, caring and dedicated professional to the position of **Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Coordinator**, to contribute to achieving Spain Country Plan and Corporate Plan objectives.We are a Bilingual 2-18 private coeducational school with approximately 2000 pupils on roll. Our Somosaguas campus has 3 separate facilities (Early Years, Primary and Secondary) and children start with us at 2 years of age and study with us for 16 years until they graduate at the age of 18.**Role Purpose**To lead and manage the implementation of high quality additional needs provision across the school. Through the effective use of monitoring, evaluation and review (MER) ensure that there are high and consistent standards of identification, communication, planned response and meeting of student needs, particularly for SEND and language acquisition.**Accountabiities**- Defining and implementing a quality first approach to teaching and learning. Embedding a high-quality universal provision for pupils which is child-centred, developing pupil independence, managing processes and quality assuring the work of all relevant stakeholders.- Take a leading role in supporting the school ́s vision for Wider Inclusion. Leading and empowering staff, including support services to increase academic and pastoral standards for all pupils developing their own practice and being accountable for their areas of responsibility.- To provide excellent leadership in the areas of curriculum design, teaching and learning, and monitoring and assessment.
