As a Field Construction Engineer, you will be tasked with…
supporting Optimization with the collection of radio performance data, troubleshooting and isolate external interference
supporting the Deployment team on new 5G radio/edge infrastructure projects
deployment and troubleshooting of any networking and 5G equipment (CDU, USM, UPF) that is physically located in the Region or Cities of responsibility
Interface with Program Management and partners to ensure project completion on time and within budget
Coordinate with the site and project management teams to ensure timely delivery of sites
Report project status and performance data to program management
Work with Operational teams and network design teams to implement solutions to reduce network-affecting incidents, improve the speed and accuracy of changes, reduce manual work, and enhance network tool visibility
Provide initial operational engineering support to detect incidents, troubleshoot problems and implement resolutions with deployed 5G Core, RAN, Transport and other network systems deployed nationwide
Assess vendor deployment and test strategies associated with new releases as well as support the implementation of such releases.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Strong understanding of Microwave Technology, Filed Installation as well as Design & Planning techniques & Tools (Pathloss 4.0, Pathloss 5.0)
High level knowledge of Nokia, Aviat and other Microwave Systems & configurations
Strong understanding of ANSI/ASSE A10.48 Safety Standards
Knowledge of Motorola R56 Quality Standards
Strong understanding of ANST/TIA-222 G and H Telecom Industry Infastructure Standards
Strong understanding of ANST/TIA-322 Telecom Industry Infastructure Standards
Good understanding of Antenna and Antenna Arrays concepts
Review RF data sheets and extraction information to be incorporated into construction drawings
Visit existing and future job sites for the purpose of gathering information to incorporate into construction drawings.
Ability to understand new technology concepts and subjects easily
Excellent communication skills verbal & written and documentation
Ability to organize and lead meetings with customer
Team player, and able collaborate well and to work on own initiative
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, Power Point and Project, Auto Cad a plus
Public Safety and Federal Experience desired
Must be adept at overseeing multiple project sites, managing subcontractors, and managing field work to plan with strong focus on quality.
Team oriented approach, strong customer focus and solid communication skills.
May or may not have direct reports but leadership skills and experience desired. Must have all relevant certs to the position.
