JOIN is a growing HR tech startup focused on democratising recruiting. We are opening a new office in Barcelona and looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to help develop our multiposting of job ads offering, built from partnerships and integrations with hundreds of European job platforms.
Our ambition is to change how Small & Medium-sized Businesses (SMBs) hire on a global scale, so SMBs can have the same hiring advantages as big companies.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with frontend engineers, product managers and DevOps/Platform teams to create meaningful features for our customers through our custom-made work methodology Agile SDLC/Kanban.
* Conduct peer code reviews and attend project retrospectives to discuss and execute improvements as a team.
* Help define the requirements and propose the best way to achieve the team goals.
* Participate in technical retrospectives to discuss testing culture, architectural solutions, automation topics, coding standards, and many more!

YOUR FUTURE TEAM
* Our mission as Backend Guild is to provide JOIN’s customers and their candidates with robust features, stable business flows, security, performance and resiliency. We believe Backend engineering should be collaborative with Platform, DevOps, Product and Frontend teams.
* We maintain tools and architecture based on Clean Architecture, strict linters, code generators, coding conventions, code snippets and service templates to spend less time on mundane work. We emphasize TDD and ensure services are tested and releases are reliable and stable.
Requirements
* 5+ years of backend development experience in total
* 2+ years of experience in any strongly typed language or TypeScript
* Strong experience with any RDBMS (either raw queries or via ORM)
* Good unit/integration testing experience
* Experience with message brokers (SNS/RabbitMQ/Kafka/Google PubSub/etc...)
Nice to have
* Experience with Node.js
* Experience with GraphQL
* Experience in GCP or AWS
* Experience with gRPC framework and proto buffers
* Good understanding of SOLID principles
