**About the role**:
HPE’s Legal Department is looking for an EU (or UK) qualified lawyer to join our highly talented and committed Litigation General Regions Team, to provide Litigation support across HPE’s Geographies in EMEA (and potentially other international regions including APAC).
Practice areas include supporting HPE's Business Units, Ethics & Compliance, Litigation, IP, CSM&A;, and supporting all Geographies outside of the US.
The WW Litigation group strategically manages, monitors, and reports on HPE’s litigation portfolio and certain legal-related investigations on a WW basis. Our mission is to provide the best legal advice and support on litigation matters, helping our internal clients achieve HPE’s business objectives in a legal and ethical manner.
The Litigation Global Regions Team is part of the WW Litigation Team and is responsible for managing all of HPE’s Litigation across our Geographies outside of the US in EMEA (Europe, Middle-East, and Africa), APJ (Asia, Pacific, and Japan) and LAC (Latin America and Canada).
The Litigation Integral Regions Team’s current Litigation Managers are based in Spain, Italy, Brazil, and Malaysia.
HPE’s Legal Department provides legal advice and support that helps our internal clients achieve HPE’s business objectives in a manner that complies with applicable legal and ethical standards.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Manage, monitor, and report pre-litigation and litigation matters in EMEA and APAC and will either directly manage their own assigned cases and/or assist the other Litigation Managers as required.
- Manage ‘Outside Counsel’ hired for assigned litigations, with the goal of meeting the Litigation Team’s costs and outcomes objectives.
- Work closely and coordinate with our Country Counsels worldwide and provide assistance and know-how on matters relating to litigation risks (early case risk assessment, costs, litigation accruals).
- Provide an interface between the Litigation team and HPE Country Counsels and work collaboratively to support HPE’s other specialist legal functions (e.g. in-house lawyers supporting HR function), as required, on any litigation-related matter (e.g. discovery processes).
- Perform his/her function at an international level and be required to interact intensively with other legal colleagues located in EMEA, APAC, LAC, and US dealing with similar matters at a WW or regional level.
- Report directly to the Associate General Counsel in charge of the Litigation Global Regions Team (who reports to the Deputy General Counsel for WW Litigation).
**Qualifications**
- Law school graduate with JD or LLB degree or equivalent.
- Typically NQ has 4+ years of post-qualification legal experience.
- Experience ideally gained working within the Litigation Practice in a reputable Law Firm.
- Fluent in oral and written English (fluency in other languages is an advantage).
- Experience in complex commercial litigations and/or other specialty litigations (including IP, Employment Litigation, etc.), law projects, issues, and/or transactions is an advantage. Experience in arbitration and mediation is a plus.
- Experience in complex IT disputes is a positive differentiator.
- International legal experience is a positive differentiator.
- Strong organizational skills, time management, team orientated and readiness to work in an interruptive and very demanding business environment (this position requires meeting tight response times).
- Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, excellent writing skills, and as a strong team player able to work well with others at various levels of the organization.
