Job Title: EMEA Payroll Team Leader
Location: Remote (based in any European country)

Key Responsibilities
* Build and lead Sailglobal’s payroll operations team and practice in the EMEA region from the ground up
* Oversee payroll processing across multiple European countries, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and legal compliance.
* Collaborate with HR, Finance, Customer Success, Product, and Implementation teams to ensure seamless data integration and process alignment.
* Manage and optimize relationships with payroll vendors and control cost structures.
* Actively support pre-sales processes and collaborate with sales and client teams to define multi-country payroll solutions.
* Lead or assist in new country payroll implementation projects, including vendor selection, process design, testing, and rollout.
* Establish and maintain standardized payroll SOPs and compliance controls in the EMEA region.
* Analyze payroll metrics and data to identify areas for process improvement and operational efficiency.
* Deliver internal payroll training and support other regional teams to scale global capability.
* Drive expansion of payroll implementation capability into additional countries and regions.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree or above in Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
* Minimum 7 years of payroll management experience across multiple EMEA countries, with strong knowledge of local laws and regulations.
* Hands-on experience with leading payroll platforms and local payroll vendors.
* Proven experience leading payroll implementations in new countries or onboarding payroll vendors is preferred.
* Pre-sales support or payroll solutioning experience is a plus.
* Background in fast-growing startups is preferred.
* Experience collaborating across multiple countries and cross-functional teams is preferred.
* Previous remote work experience is a plus.
* Willingness and ability to expand payroll execution capability across additional countries and regions is a strong plus.
* Fluent in English with excellent communication and coordination skills; proficiency in other European languages is a bonus.
* Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and multi-tasking skills.
