The night auditor is responsible for verifying the accuracy of the front desk accounting records. Daily, they summarize and compile information for the hotel's financial records, track room revenue, occupancy rates, and other Front Office operational statistics. They execute the end-of-day/night audit process in Opera.
Essential Functions :
1. Demonstrate teamwork by cooperating and assisting colleagues when necessary.
2. Greet and welcome all guests upon arrival.
3. Check guests into the hotel promptly and courteously, using sales techniques to maximize room rates; prepare for check-in and check-out of groups and VIP arrivals.
4. Balance and verify the accuracy of room revenue and process No-Shows.
5. Balance and verify the accuracy of all room and tax charges, cashier's reports, and house accounts.
6. Perform daily reports such as Manager Flash report, Trial balance, AR Aging Detail Report, Guest Ledger Detail Report, Market Segment Report, Open Balance Report, Day/Month/Year Stat Report, and posting journal report, and send them to management.
7. Complete and transmit daily management, accounting reports, and supporting documents.
8. Communicate with other hotel departments to resolve accounting discrepancies and request or provide information.
9. Communicate effectively with guests, team members, and other departments.
10. Assist guests with luggage.
11. Attend and participate in all hotel and department meetings, training sessions, and briefings.
12. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Front Office Manager, Supervisors, or Assistant FO Manager.
Qualifications :
1. Degree in hospitality management preferred.
2. Prior hotel experience preferred, especially within a Four Star hotel brand.
3. Proficiency with computer software and hardware; ability to multitask and maneuver on a computer keyboard.
4. Fluent in English, both verbal and written; knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
5. Customer-service oriented with excellent hospitality skills.
