JOB DESCRIPTION
The Genomics and transcriptomics of synucleinopathies (GTS) group focuses on the molecular characterization of Lewy body diseases. Over the past 10 years we have specialized in dementia with Lewy bodies with the goal to provide peripheral diagnostic markers.
Now we are looking for a Predoctoral researcher for an ambitious project with an important social impact especially for patients and their families. You will participate in a Research Project in Personalized and Precision Medicine funded to develop diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers for Lewy body disorders in early stages. This translational research project aims to offer solutions for patients, clinicians, and the development of therapeutic strategies. Validation studies will be essential for the creation of a spin‑off company.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in sample obtaining and processing.
- Conduct RNA expression studies including data analyses.
- Conduct cell culture‑based experiments.
- Perform Luminex‑ and ELISA‑based protein quantification assays.
- Characterize platelets by cytometry.
- Run RT‑Quick/SAA assays.
- Interpret data, present and discuss results.
- Draft manuscripts.
- Update and maintain laboratory databases.
- Manage laboratory materials and reagents readiness.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Master in Science with a special focus in molecular and cellular biology and/or neuroscience.
- Accepted in a PhD program.
- At least 24 months of research experience.
- Strong experience in DNA/RNA isolation, quantification, PCR and genotyping.
- Proficiency in sample handling, cell culture (astrocytes, microglia), protein quantification (Luminex, ELISA), cytometry, RT‑Quick/SAA, confocal microscopy, and image analyses.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel, and R Studio for data analysis.
- Poster presentation at an international congress or conference.
- Advanced level in spoken and written English.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and actively participate in the team.
- Attention to detail, strong sense of responsibility, perseverance, and strong ambition to learn.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
