About the role
At SOTEC Consulting – Astek Group, we are looking for an APS Engineer profile to join a strategic project within the banking sector, in an international environment.
Responsibilities
* Provide continuous technical and functional support to users.
* Manage incidents ensuring rapid service restoration, with full transparency towards the business: logging, communication, coordination, resolution, and drafting of PIRs (Post Incident Reviews).
* Ensure the definitive eradication of problems and properly manage application access according to applicable recommendations.
* Contribute to the creation of production dashboards and carry out actions aimed at improving the service.
* Implement monitoring systems and parameters, overseeing the proper technical and functional functioning of the application.
* Control the correct execution of processes according to the production plan, verifying the quality of interfaces, transfers between applications, and the status of technical components.
* Monitor the proper functioning of backups and restoration processes.
* Orchestrate and manage releases, as well as perform technical integration of applications using existing products and services to optimize timelines; also schedule batch processes and define monitoring mechanisms.
* Create, maintain, and improve documentation: operational procedures, technical documentation, user manuals (in collaboration with development), and the knowledge base.
* Analyze and improve application performance (logs, traces, events), manage capacity according to business needs, perform data purges, provide expertise to IT Ops, estimate workloads, plan changes with different teams, and contribute to area processes ensuring compliance and necessary remediations.
Mandatory requirements
* Experience in application production support (L2/L3) in critical environments.
* End-to-end incident management: analysis, resolution, communication, and production of PIRs (Post Incident Reviews)
* Experience with ticketing management tools such as ServiceNow or similar platforms.
* Knowledge of batch process planning and monitoring (Control-M, Autosys, or equivalent tools).
* Experience in file transfer and system integration, ideally with Axway Transfer CFT.
* Operational knowledge of Linux systems.
* Skills in scripting and automation using Shell (Python and SQL are a plus).
* Experience in application monitoring, including analysis of logs, traces, and events.
* Basic understanding of IT infrastructure (networks, load balancers, WAF).
* Familiarity with CI/CD and automation tools (Jenkins, Ansible, or similar).
* English speaker
Nice to have
* Experience in banking or highly regulated environments.
* Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, or Terraform.
* French speaker
