Our client is an international telecommunications company and a key player in global connectivity. The company leads cutting-edge infrastructure development across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. The ideal candidate will be a Commercial Lawyer with strong expertise in corporate and commercial matters, and any exposure to maritime or shipping-related legal frameworks will be considered an valuable asset.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Customer Contract Negotiation:
Ø Drafting and negotiating a range of agreements, including NDAs, Master Service Agreements, Construction & Maintenance Agreements, Indefeasible Right of Use (IRU) Agreements, and Landing Party Agreements.
· Supplier Contract Negotiation:
Ø Managing supplier contracts for construction and services, Master Service Agreements, and related commercial agreements.
· Financial Agreements:
Ø Engaging with financial institutions including multilateral banks (EIB, ADB, World Bank), commercial banks, equity and debt investors, and development finance institutions.
· Corporate & Regulatory Support:
Ø Supporting acquisitions, due diligence, compliance matters, incorporation of subsidiaries in various jurisdictions, and liaising with telecommunications regulators (e.g., FCC, Anacom, CMT, NCA, NCC).
For the main contracts, they also have external support of leading Law firms such as DLA piper and Jones Day to work along with them. Contracts are either under English or French law and 90% of contracts are in English.
REQUIREMENTS
· Qualified lawyer with a degree in Law and admission to practice in a relevant jurisdiction.
· Solid experience in corporate and commercial law, ideally gained in an international environment or law firm.
· Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts.
· Familiarity with maritime, shipping, or subsea infrastructure legal matters is considered a strong advantage.
· Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
· Ability to work in a fast-paced, international environment with cross-functional teams.
· Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
