Description
The Senior Business Analyst requires exceptional communication and problem-solving skills, being able to resolve analytical problems working with onshore, offshore, and client teams. You are a critical member of the Agile delivery team driving the development of business and functional requirements, communication at all levels, and contributing to the strategic roadmap of the project.
The ideal candidate is multi-talented across several fields : software engineering, business analysis, math, critical thinking, good business sense, great communication skills, and a passion for problem solving. This individual needs to be highly resourceful and intellectually curious with solid analytical skills. The Senior Business Analyst must go beyond just running the numbers and be able to translate relevant information into actionable insights that provide business value to clients. They should be well-rounded, excelling in technical, business, operational, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
The Senior Business Analyst performs hands-on business analysis activities by understanding client business needs and transforming them into detailed functional requirements through a thorough analysis process. You will collaborate closely with solution architects, product & program managers, business users, and other stakeholders. You are responsible for delivering business analysis outputs (e.g., business and functional requirements) through requirements artifacts, communication, and oversight of analysis deliverables within Agile teams. You may also contribute ideas to the strategic roadmap and support or lead other business analysts.
Specific activities and deliverables include :
* Utilize business analysis tools & techniques to elicit, analyze, document, and obtain sign-off on requirements.
* Analyze current and future client business processes, perform gap analysis against EIS Suite capabilities, and produce necessary requirements.
* Collaborate with Agile teams throughout the project lifecycle to ensure the successful implementation of the EIS Suite software to meet client needs.
* Own analysis activities within a specific business domain, including planning, reporting on status, risks, and issues.
* Work closely with architects and developers on solution design for complex requirements.
* Support, coach, or lead other business analysts as needed.
* Educate Product Owners & Clients on our implementation process and EIS Suite capabilities.
* Promote best practices in Business Analysis within the team and company.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
1. At least 3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, or Programmer-Analyst in large or medium IT implementations of enterprise software.
2. Experience owning business analysis activities in a specific domain within platform implementations.
3. Understanding of Agile, SDLC, software development methodologies, and requirements management tools.
4. Knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
5. Experience analyzing business processes and techniques like Use Cases, User Stories, Flow Diagrams (BABOK).
6. Excellent planning, communication, documentation, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
7. Preferred : Experience managing other analysts, object / data modeling, insurance / financial domain, CBAP certification.
8. Willingness to travel up to 30%.
9. Proficiency in French and English.
