This position reports to

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to grow our robotics business beyond traditional manufacturing and logistics industries. Tapping into our broad portfolio of products and cutting-edge technology, Service Robotics focuses on bringing the benefits of automation to customers in the healthcare, life sciences, food service and retail point of sale segments.

As part of the Service Robotics Global Research & Development (R&D) team for robotic applications, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and refining robotic solutions that tackle real-world challenges in these industries. Your work will focus on transforming innovative concepts into practical, high-performing applications that enhance efficiency, precision, and user experience for global customers.

The work model for the role is: hybrid.

This role is contributing to the Robotics and Discrete Automation Business Area located in Barcelona.

You will be mainly accountable for:

* Working as an independent and reliable contributor in R&D projects with limited supervision.
* Performing various tasks in the assigned area (e.g., robotics application development, mobile robotics, vision systems), from building concepts, gathering requirements to designing, implementing, integrating, testing, and handover to operations and sales.
* Understanding and applying applicable processes, standards, guidelines, and requirements, including architectural and design constraints.
* Driving the achievement of assigned targets (performance, quality, time, scope, cost) and raising and addressing risks.

Qualifications for the role
* Electronical, Industrial, Automatic, Robotics or Computer Engineering.
* + 3 years of experience as R&D Engineer, Robotics Project Engineer or similar roles.
* Capability to translate customer needs and problems into product requirements and portfolio activities.
* Fluency in English.
* Experience in robotics and automation, including vision system.
* Experience in mobile robotics and with ROS is a plus.
* Experience in agile software development is a plus.
* Team-player, highly proactive and result-driven attitude.
* Willingness to travel occasionally.
