Seeking a candidate for a Fund Controller role in the Fund Finance team in the Madrid office. The candidate will work closely with the existing Fund Finance team and report to Luxembourg's Finance Director. This position ensures the accurate management of fund assets, compliance with regulatory requirements, and timely delivery of financial reports. We seek a hardworking candidate with integrity, analytical rigor, strategic thinking, communication skills, and an awareness of economic trends.
Responsibilities
* Review and approve the quarterly NAV calculations, Capital Account Statements, and Investor Reporting.
* In collaboration with External Advisors and Service Providers, oversee and manage the preparation of annual financial statements for investment vehicles and holding companies and liaise with external auditors to cover the annual audits.
* Coordinate with external tax advisors to prepare and review tax-related documents (e.g., VAT, CIT, NWT, K-1).
* Review and approve capital calls, distributions, and fee calculations.
* Oversee payment processing of invoices, general cost oversight, and cash management.
* Monitor the ongoing cash movements of the funds, manage liquidity, and build cashflow forecasts for the funds and related entities.
* Support the different reporting (estimates) and investor requests.
* Contribute to improving existing policies and procedures and implementing technology solutions to optimize the fund-controlling function.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fields. A Master’s degree or MBA in Finance, Economics, or a similar field is a plus.
* Minimum 3 years of experience in fund accounting and/or PERE audit roles, specifically with Private Equity, Debt Funds, or other alternative asset classes.
* Knowledge of fund structures, partnership accounting, and financial reporting for alternative investments.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
* Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
* Full proficiency in English.
