About the job:
You will start as an Editorial Trainee working closely with our Managing Editors to learn the process of handling papers from submission to publication.
We are passionate about disseminating the latest scientific knowledge and committed to open access publishing. We welcome energetic new members to our Barcelona office.
This is a full-time and office-based position.
Depending on your scientific background, you will be assigned to a relevant field. We primarily seek Editors with education in areas such as health economics, food science, public health, psychology, nutrition, toxicology, preventive medicine, epidemiology, nursing, health statistics, infectious diseases, rehabilitation therapy, exercise and public health, environmental science, environmental engineering .

Responsibilities:
* Support the editorial process for academic research journals in your expertise area.
* Contact experts and organize peer review for submitted manuscripts, ensuring timely completion.
* Manage email correspondence related to the publication process.
* Format manuscripts according to in-house standards, adhering to deadlines with high accuracy.
* Collaborate with the editorial and production teams, including the Editor-in-Chief, Editorial Board, authors, and reviewers, to ensure smooth journal operations and timely publication.
* Monitor research developments in your discipline and assist in achieving journal development goals.
Requirements:
* PhD in one of the relevant subjects listed above.
* Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Excellent communication skills in Spanish and English.
* Ability to multitask and pay attention to detail.
* Strong organizational and time management skills.
* Experience in scholarly publishing is advantageous but not required.
* Residency in Spain and legal authorization to work.
