IDC is looking to grow our successful global events portfolio by adding a Product Marketing Manager who can deliver on its 3-year event marketing growth plans across IDC’s 12 primary international regions.
The Product Marketing Manager for IT Events will play a pivotal role in transforming our event business by designing new event packages that integrate products and services from various business units in innovative ways. This role requires a strategic thinker capable of working cross-functionally to align business objectives, create compelling value propositions, and drive engagement with both event attendees and sponsors.
Location: This role can be based anywhere in Spain (remote work available).
Responsibilities
* Strategic Alignment: Collaborate with the Events leadership team to reimagine and transform our event offerings, ensuring increased value for attendees and sponsors.
* Product Innovation: Partner with business leadership to define and develop new event packages, leveraging insights from different units. Establish business cases, validate concepts with customers and prospects, and align with company strategy.
* Packaging & Pricing Development: Support the development of sponsorship packaging and pricing strategies. Conduct market research and validation exercises to ensure market fit, competitive positioning, and willingness to pay.
* Messaging & Positioning: Create compelling messaging and narratives that resonate with target audiences, reflecting the value and differentiation of our event offerings.
* Content Development: Own the development of product marketing frameworks, such as competitive assessments, positioning, and messaging. Develop key content pieces like datasheets, rate cards, web copy, and presentations, supporting marketing efforts.
* Launch Leadership: Lead planning and execution of event product launches, coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure timely and aligned delivery.
* Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Corporate Marketing, Sales, Events, and Business Development to drive awareness, interest, and monetization of event packages.
* Market Research & Insights: Monitor industry trends, customer feedback, and competitor activity to inform development and refinement of event packages, providing actionable insights for strategic decisions.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.
* 7+ years of experience in product marketing, preferably in technology or data industries.
* Proven success in developing and launching products or services.
* Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear plans.
* Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multiple teams and units.
* Experience with pricing strategy, market research, and customer validation techniques.
* Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
