Contable Financiero Senior at Ebury. Ebury is a global fintech firm dedicated to empowering businesses to expand internationally through tailored and forward-thinking financial solutions. This role is based in León, Spain, with 4 days in the office and 1 day of remote work per week.
As Contable Financiero Senior, you will work in the Finance – Financial Control & Reporting department at the León office and report directly to one of the Financial Controllers. You will supervise two junior financial accountants and contribute to the group’s IFRS and local GAAP reporting, including reporting to the parent company, Santander.
Responsibilities
* Report various statements and annexes to the parent company ensuring accuracy and proper support.
* Assist and train junior financial accountants in reporting for Santander.
* Identify opportunities to automate reports and collaborate with the technology team to implement improvements.
* Participate in internal reporting for subsidiaries as needed, preparing reports on financial performance, variance analysis, business commentary, and unusual trends.
* Support audit activities for group subsidiaries, coordinating auditor requests and ensuring deadlines are met.
* Perform accounting functions and journal entries as part of monthly close.
* Develop and maintain complex Excel spreadsheets to support reporting and accounting tasks.
* Foster a culture of ownership and accountability to identify and initiate changes that improve processes, controls, and systems.
* Collaborate proactively with all functional areas of Ebury’s global operations and external third parties, reviewing processes, ensuring controls, and advising on improvements to provide timely reports to third parties.
The selected candidate should demonstrate adaptability to a changing environment, strong critical thinking, and solid communication skills. Collaboration and innovative practices are expected to increase efficiency across finance and the business.
Qualifications
* Finance professional with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
* Advanced Excel and data analysis skills.
* Knowledge of IFRS is required.
* Excellent communication skills in Spanish and English.
* Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
* High attention to detail and ability to work with large data sets without compromising accuracy.
* Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects with tight deadlines.
