Role Overview
You will support the development, certification, and verification of aircraft systems for electric aviation platforms (eVTOL, electric propulsion, cabin systems). The role sits at the intersection of systems engineering, safety, certification, and V&V, with hands‑on involvement across requirements definition, modeling, testing, and compliance demonstration at Component, System, and Aircraft levels.
Responsibilities
Systems Engineering & Requirements
* Develop, manage, and validate aircraft‑, system‑, and component‑level requirements.
* Generate and maintain requirements aligned with customer, regulatory, and certification needs.
* Ensure bidirectional traceability between requirements, verification methods, and compliance evidence.
* Manage requirements in ALM environments (Polarion).
* Provide design feedback related to safety, requirements completeness, and verification readiness.
Safety & Certification
* Apply SAE ARP4754A and ARP4761 processes throughout the system lifecycle.
* Support Functional Hazard Assessments (FHA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and FMEA.
* Participate in certification planning and compliance demonstrations.
* Interface with certification engineers and DERs to support FAA approval activities.
* Support certification programs under Part 23 / 27 / 33, including electric propulsion systems.
Verification & Validation
* Author, execute, and maintain verification plans, procedures, and test reports.
* Define and execute requirements‑based test strategies at Component, System, and Aircraft levels.
* Coordinate and execute lab, integration, and system‑level tests.
* Verify systems including: vibrations, airframe, fuselage, interiors, doors, transparencies, ECS, interior lighting, smoke detection, and more.
* Ensure verification activities align with certification schedules.
* Track and report verification status with full traceability.
Modeling, Analysis & Test Support
* Perform system behavior modeling for validation.
* Support test automation and data analysis.
* Ensure verification deliverables meet certification expectations.
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Software Engineering, or related field.
* 10+ years of experience on Part 23 or 27 aircraft or rotorcraft programs.
* Strong knowledge of:
* SAE ARP4754A
* SAE ARP4761
* FAA Order 8110.4C
* RTCA DO‑160G, DO‑331, DO‑178C
* Experience with ARP4754A‑based verification.
* Experience with requirements‑based testing and traceability audits.
* Proficiency with ALM tools (Polarion, JIRA, Confluence).
* Experience with modeling tools (Onshape, SolidWorks, CATIA, etc.).
* Comfortable working in certification‑focused environments.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with Part 23 Amendment 64, ASTM F3338, Part 33 certification, or electric propulsion systems.
* Familiarity with:
* Polarion ALM
* CATIA
* ANSYS
* Mil‑HDBK‑217 / Mil‑HDBK‑21
* Reliability tools (PTC Windchill, Isograph, Relyence)
* Test & automation experience with LabVIEW, Python, and automation frameworks.
* Background in aerospace verification & validation.
* Experience in certifying environments (Part 23, 25, 27, 29 or DO‑based programs under EASA/FAA).
Tools & Work Environment
