The Warehouse / Logistics Assistant coordinates and executes warehouse and logistics activities, ensuring the operational management of logistical providers and internal staff (e.g., warehouse staff, drivers) in line with specifications, orders, and safety policies. The role supports efficient material and equipment storage and flow, aligning with the OpCo’s production, warehousing, and distribution objectives.
This position primarily focuses on administrative support and execution within the Logistics / Supply Chain area, which may include warehousing, outbound transport, or both. The specific focus depends on the size and structure of the logistics/warehousing function. In larger operations, the role may specialize in areas such as stock control or transport planning, whereas in smaller OpCos, the role may require a broader scope, including goods control, distribution, and possibly forklift operation.
Key Responsibilities:
* Inventory Management & Stock Control: Reorders materials, registers stock levels, monitors supplier performance, and maintains materials and equipment to ensure optimal availability and timely identification of bottlenecks.
* Inbound Goods and Storage: Coordinates intake, checks quantities and damages, organizes unloading and storage, labels materials, and ensures proper storage locations.
* Order Handling: Processes customer orders, checks, packs, and distributes materials efficiently and accurately to internal and external customers.
* Outbound Goods and Transport Planning: Prepares goods for transport, including dispatch documentation, and supports routing and scheduling of deliveries.
* Systems and Administration: Manages logistics data entry, maintains accurate records, and generates reports, ensuring compliance with Nutreco standards.
* Customer Satisfaction: Manages customer relationships, handles requests appropriately, and maintains positive feedback.
* Continuous Improvement: Evaluates and optimizes logistics processes, tools, and systems for ongoing improvement.
* Compliance: Ensures adherence to safety, quality, and health regulations.
* Other Duties: Performs additional support and administrative tasks as assigned.
