The Chief Procurement Officer reports to the Chief Financial Officer and is a member of the Sanofi executive committee. The Procurement organization is divided into five Domains: Manufacturing & Supply, Marketing & Sales, Professional Services, Scientific & Medical, and Digital, leveraging Global Procurement Operations and the Procurement Center of Excellence & Transformation. The yearly spend coverage is around 15B€, with a focus on Procurement excellence, Supplier Diversity, and Sustainability.
Procurement collaborates closely with Finance, Business Operations, and Business Units to achieve cost efficiency and savings. It plays a critical role in optimizing Business Operational Impact by driving simplification, efficiency, and productivity. As an Events and Medical Communication Buyer within the Marketing & Sales domain, you will be responsible for implementing sourcing strategies aligned with category management strategies. Your role includes leading sourcing activities for the assigned spend category and geographic scope, supporting internal business teams, building project scopes, consolidating needs, conducting Global RFPs, negotiating contracts and renewals, and managing supplier relationships.
You will maintain procurement documentation, report KPIs, and manage local procurement projects within your geographic scope, which includes France and Western Europe. Your main responsibilities include executing global strategies, presenting procurement strategies to internal stakeholders, delivering savings, leading RFPs and negotiations, reporting on performance and risks, supporting audit processes, ensuring compliance with procurement policies, and fostering strong internal partnerships.
Key requirements include at least 4+ years of procurement or related experience, strong planning and relationship-building skills, deep knowledge of procurement processes, and the ability to work independently on multiple projects. Fluency in English is required; French is a plus. A minimum bachelor’s degree is required, with a master’s preferred.
