We are looking for a Full Stack Developer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will collaborate with multiple departments to build, enhance, and maintain our digital platforms, such as our company website and web applications.
Based in Barcelona, Spain, FocusEconomics is a leading provider of economic intelligence through reports, data solutions, and a business intelligence platform. Our clients include senior executives from multinational and national companies, government organizations, and think tacks. To deliver the latest economic forecasts, we rely on an extensive global network of analysts from leading investment banks, consultancies, and national banks worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate with various teams, especially Product and Marketing, to develop, update, and maintain websites and web applications.
* Design and implement new features and functionalities using front-end (React.js, WordPress, HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and back-end (Node.js, Python) technologies.
* Develop custom WordPress themes, plugins, and integrations to meet business and user needs.
* Optimize websites for performance, responsiveness, and user experience.
* Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in web applications and sites.
* Follow best practices for code quality, security, and SEO.
* Participate in code reviews and knowledge‑sharing sessions.
* Stay current with the latest trends and technologies in web development to continually improve our platforms.
Requirements
* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
* At least three years of experience in full‑stack development.
* Strong front‑end development skills with React.js, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
* Experience with WordPress development, including custom themes and plugins.
* Proficiency in back‑end technologies such as Node.js or Python.
* Proficiency in Azure Cloud.
* Familiarity with database management and RESTful APIs.
* Solid understanding of responsive design, cross‑browser compatibility, and web performance optimization.
* Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
* Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to learning.
* Fluent in English and Spanish.
